Bookmark Dump: Running in penises, vintage revivals, and sprinkly creamsicles

August 22, 2014

Hello! I missed last week’s bookmark dump because we were moving into our house. Ever since, we’ve been busy unpacking (Brian already had to go on a work trip, boo) and I’ve been painting the family room and built in book shelves. I can’t wait to show you guys a finished picture but I still have yet to style the shelves and right now it’s a mess. But for the most part, our stuff is pretty much unpacked. If it’s not, it’s because we have no where to put it. We need to build some closet storage in the guest room and office.

We’ve been slowly exploring the outside world because we’ve been preoccupied with getting the house in order, but I am so excited that there is this awesome shopping plaza that’s just 5 dangerous minutes away from us that includes nearly every store you’d ever need (Just a few…Target, Home Depot, Bed Bath and Beyond, and Tattered Books which is an awesome indie bookstore/coffee shop!). I can also ride my bike there, but still have yet to do that because I don’t have a basket to carry the crap I’d end up buying. But the closeness has been a life saver with all the paint samples and painting I’ve been doing lately.

Oh, and we’re getting our new washing machine and dryer delivered and installed today. It’s the first time we’ve ever had to buy one. For whatever reason, every house out here had it in the contract that they weren’t included in the sale of the house. All it takes is one person to take their washer and dryer unit to create a domino effect. That’s my theory anyway.

I hope you enjoy this week’s dump. I think it’s pretty kick ass.

I love this lady, Claire, who uses the Nike+ app to run in different shapes, like penises!
If I was a runner, I’d totally do this.

Visual Heart is a new-to-me favorite blog. Nicole transforms the ugliest pieces of furniture you’d find on the side of the road into absolutely gorgeous new pieces! Like this vintage side table
Seriously, go look at the before. Woah.

I finally bought enough of this beautiful fabric to make my own drapes for the bedroom.

And to make those drapes, I’ll be using this tutorial from Ocean Front Shack
because I can’t use a sewing machine to save my life. It always jams.

These Funfetti Creamsicles look amazing.

I love things that are things like this bike pizza cutter! How cute.

What a cool concept, weaving crochet strips together to make a cushion!
