I have fond memories of my childhood where I’d go digging through my mom’s extensive craft book collection around the holidays to get ideas for things to make for people. Then I’d dig through her cabinet that was full of supplies to gather what I needed. She always seemed to have everything too (craft goals!). Looking through these two books gave me a similar feeling.
As an affiliate of Leisure Arts Inc (a large craft book publications company), I am proud to share a sneak peek into two of their latest craft books: Yarn Whimsies for the Holidays and Crafty Critters.
Yarn Whimsies for the Holidays (available in paperback) contains 14 super easy to follow yarn crafts that are perfect for creating colorful holiday decorations for your home. These projects are a great way to bust that yarn stash! A few of my favorite projects in this book are the wall hanging, pom pom wreath, and snowman.
There are patterns in the back so you can trace and cut out perfect shapes for the holiday cards inside.
Here’s my own pom pom snowman! I didn’t have red pom poms or a pipe cleaner for his earmuffs on hand so I crocheted 2 tiny circles and glued them over a piece of red ribbon instead.
In Crafty Critters (which is available in both paperback and digital download), all the projects inside are woodland creatures made with felt, which is my second most favorite medium to work with after yarn! My favorite projects in this book are the little fox, fawn and skunk wall pockets and leaf mug rugs.
There are 7 highly detailed craft projects inside Crafty Critters, and in the back you will find all the patterns to cut out your little critters.
Overall, I think these books would make a great addition to your creative library so when the mood strikes to get crafty, you’ll have some great seasonal ideas to choose from at hand.
